Please help improve this website. Thank you all.

Could you please explain more clearly why it "deserves" to be in Wikipedia? Please not that we have a set of guideliens and policies for what can appear. The one I'm most concerned about this meeting are the notability guidelines for people. I don't see how she meets those guidelines, but it does look like it may be debatable. Can you please explain how she meets those guidelines? If not, it will be appropriate to formally nominate this for deletion. Qwyrxian (talk) 14:25, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The girl had changed the entire perception on yoga in the Middle East. Most of the residents there used to think that it is a form of religion, while more recently the general attitude tends to realize yoga therapy's potential. Yoga publications and other media on the topic is now allowed due to this social change.

One thing to all new contributors--after you leave a message on a talk page (not an article page), type four tildas: ~~~~. This will automatically leave your signature--your name and the time you left the message.
Okay, about the article, while what you say above is interesting, the key is that for Wikipedia, we have to document notability by showing references in reliable sources. The problem is that the sources you've provided don't do that. Every one of those sources (as far as I can tell) is a book or article that Palavurova has written or videos she has created. That alone does not establish notability. What we need are magazine or newspaper articles, articles in professional yoga journals, television interviews, etc., that are about Palavurova, not by her. That is the key to meeting Wikipedia's requirement that we prove that people are notable. These references don't need to be in English, although that would be preferred. Note also that the references don't need to be online--it's okay if they are print magazines/newspapers, as long as you can give enough citation information. If you don't know how to add that information, please let me know and I will be happy to help.
If Palavurova has done what you said, I believe that she probably meets the notability criteria. We just need to make sure that we document that now. Qwyrxian (talk) 10:00, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Professional yoga journals were not allowed untill recently in the region. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vania78 (talkcontribs) 10:44, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Quick question--the 4 citations that were just added (numbers 1 through 4 in the current list)--are those citations to things created by her, or articles written about her? I'd like to go through and clean up the reference, getting them into a more normal format, so that we can keep bringing the page up in quality. Also, it would be helpful, although not actually required, if you added page numbers. Also, once I get the chance, I'll wikify (add internal links) in the article, too. Explanation of my changes[edit]

I'm taking out some of the unverified info from the article. I'm copying it here in case we can site it in the near future:

A big part of this first DVD have been donated to the Think Pink Charity organization in Bahrain. An ex-smoker who is also an ambassador for the National Autism Association.

Also, I removed the sentence about where to find her work, as that is not the appropriate way to write it in Wikipedia articles. Eventually, what we need is a "Selected Publications section," although I don't have have the energy to compile that now. For the moment, I moved the one that was directly linked to her article to the External Links section.

I moved the link to her studio to external links--that's not a reliable source as it's a commercial site and essentially self-published.

I added some wikilinks, and cleaned up the grammar.

I added section titles, separating her Yoga work from her modeling work Qwyrxian (talk) 06:05, 1 October 2010 (UTC) Thank you. I also have a photo that I scanned from Bahrain Confidential, but pls advice on how to upload it.Vania78 (talk) 09:40, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, you can't. If the picture is from a magazine, it is certain that the magazine owns the picture. Wikipedia only allows images that are either in the public domain (free), are donated to Wikipedia, or are "fair use"--however, pictures of people can never be fair use. The only way the picture could be uploaded would be if the magazine themselves uploaded it along with an official statement donating the picture. If you have contact with the magazine and need information about how to do this, let me know. Qwyrxian (talk) 15:31, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I do have a contact with the publication. Pls advise on how to proceed with the photo. Thank you —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vania78 (talkcontribs) 07:27, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Full details can be found here: WP:Donating copyrighted materials. The short version is that for a publication, the easiest way is usually to send an email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. This email needs to be sent from an email account associated with the copyright owner (i.e, from the publisher, not from you). On the linked page there's info, but basically they need to consent to donating the materials under a Creative Commons CC-BY-SA license (meaning, anyone, on Wikipedia or off, can use the image again in the future, for free or for profit, so long as they identify who originally created the image). Language that explains that can be found at WP:CONSENT. Then they would need to upload the file to [[[Wikipedia Commons]], and include the {{OTRS pending}} tag on the image upload page. Information about how to upload images on Commons can be found at this place. Note that the publisher will need to make a Wikimedia account to do this.
There are other ways; for example, if the image is already online, they could change the license on that page to show it's now CC-BY-SA. Most publications can't actually do that, however.
Let me know if you have more questions. Qwyrxian (talk) 08:58, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A photograph has already been donated from a magazine; it has been emailed to the email adress you mentioned. Please assist for its publication. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lily82 (talkcontribs) 09:17, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Did you also upload the file on Commons as explained on WP:Donating copyrighted materials? Let me know when they reply to your email, and we can figure out how to proceed. Qwyrxian (talk) 11:04, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
