It seems to me that this article was made by the subject in question, and is therefore obselete and should be deleted. 86.149.252.56 13:58, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No kidding. This is just so lame. Please, delete this article. This is not what wikipedia is about.

Just because you guys aren't in the slam scene doesn't mean this article is irrelevant. The slam scene where I'm from is pretty active, and I've seen Mighty Mike McGee perform more than once. There's not one thing in there that would be disputed by anyone within the slam community. His poem "Like" (incorrectly italicized as opposed to set off in quotation marks) is one of his most popular; it is the one people are most likely to know without having seen him perform live. It's quite amusing, but that's just opinion. No, Slam Poetry doesn't make you an insta-celebrity, but he *has* been on Def Poetry Jam, and I think it qualifies, given some of the other obscure crap you can find on Wikipedia. It just needs to be cleaned up and sourced better. Twilytgardnfaery 17:20, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For everyone in this discussion: Notability is based on Wikipedia policy, WP:N, WP:CREATIVE and WP:ENT are the relevant policies. Start any discussion of article notability from there, it'll be easier to come to a conclusion. --je deckertalk 17:18, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This article stretches the notion of notability past reasonable limits. This probably ought to be deleted. Twilytgardnfaery, your case for notability doesn't pass the muster. Notability is more than just a collection of facts that prove somebody exists. And one "hit' doesn't qualify a person as notable according to our standards.
