Death date[edit]

There's a discrepancy between the death date in the text and in the infobox. Could someone who has a source check this? Retroplum (talk) 21:54, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Marguerite de la Pole; daughter of Sir Richard and Margaret of Sicily[edit]

There seems to be a HUGE mix up as to who Marguerite de la Pole is on Wiki. I have several pages that just lead me into a frenzy. First we have Marguerite as the daughter of this Sir Richard, son of the 2nd Earl of Suffolk, who had Marguerite de la Pole by Richard's mistress, Margaret of Sicily. This IS correct, HOWEVER, the Sir Richard listed as being the father of Marguerite was actually the son of Sir John, 2nd DUKE of Suffolk by Elizabeth of York, Duchess of Suffolk. The second Duke is the eldest son of William de la Pole, 1st Duke of Suffolk and Alice Chaucer. This is the excerpt from Douglas Richardson's books, Plantagenet Ancestry and Magna Carta:

MARGUERITE [DE LA] POLE (otherwise SUFFOLK), lady of honour of the Queen of Navarre. She married at Fontainbleu by contract dated 21 May 1539 (signed in the presence of the Queen and her kinsman, Gabiel, Marquis of Saluzzo) SIBEUD (or CYBAUD) DE TIVOLEY (or TIVOLEY), seigneur of Brenieu in Vivarais and La Motte-Galaure in Dauphiné, esquire ordinaire of Queen Eléonore of Austria, judge of la terre d'Ay. They had three sons, Jean (seigneur of Brenieu in Vavarais), Pierre (priest) [canon of Saint-Denis], and Claude (priest) [canon of Evry], and five daughters, Catherine (wife of Gilbert de Colomb), Eléonore (wife of Jean de Secondat de Montesquieu, seigneur of Roques), Marguerite (wife of Claude d'Orgeoise, seigneur of Montferrier), Louise (wife of Jean de Montchenu), and Sébastienne (wife of André Berenger du Gua). Sibeud de Thivoley was living in 1547, and died before 1568. His widow, Marguerite, left a will dated 1599.
