A Winner of the September 2005 West Dakota Prize

This entry, one of an unprecedented 52, has won the September 2005 West Dakota Prize, awarded for successfully employing the expression "legend states" in a complete sentence.

As far as modern fiction is concerned, there is also a reference to Michael Scot and is work Physionomia In John Buchan’s The Three Hostages (1924), as the guru of the evil character Dominick Medina on the arts of spiritual/mind control. Thank you Wikipedia and keep up the good work!

Apparently this character was played a really important role in renascentism, if not by other things, by being the first to trasnlate some texts from Aristotle from Arabian sources into Latim. I found some references to this in a book by Jacques Bergier I don't have access right now, but he also failed to bring up his sources. Gwidion (talk) 01:53, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Gwidion[reply]

Aqua Ardens?[edit]

These folks: http://www.scotlandmag.com/magazine/issue49/12009597.html suggest that Scot was awarded the name "aqua ardens" from being a pioneer in alcohol distillation and possible the father of Scots Whisky.
