Confused about British-French[edit]

How could he have been British-French if he did not live in Britain and none of the categories mention British or Britain at all? All I am seeing is French and that is it.

The slot where "British-French" appears in the lede is supposed to be a nationality and British-French is clearly not a nationality. Feel free to change it to French. There's enough content in the article regarding his connections to things British to explain why someone thought this hyphenated descriptor might apply, but we can just leave that to speak for itself. — jmcgnh^{(talk) (contribs)} 16:20, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I remember something about you, but I didn't know the specific restrictions that were placed on your editing. Now that I've refreshed that, it's still somewhat confusing, since some people have suggested that you use {{help me}} and that decidedly is not what most of the community thinks the template is to be used for. Yes, the {{request edit}} template raises issues about COI, which aren't exactly applicable in your particular situation, but it's still the better way to request a content change. Given that it was actual admins making the suggestion makes this more complicated.

So I looked at all the available templates and found this one: {{Edit partially-blocked}} which I think is the correct one that you should be using in your situation. I'll add a note to your talk page so other editors and admins will see why you are using it instead of their earlier suggestions.
