Michael Kelly (American actor)Michael Kelly (actor) – Apparently there is a 250-year-old tenor whose page used to be at the (actor) address, which was then moved to (singer), then (musician), then (tenor) starting in 2007. Since then, the American actor Michael Kelly is the only actor listed on the disambig page of dozens of Michael Kellys. He should be the primary topic for that link, not the redirect to the disambiguation. He's been in a lot of well-received works in the past decade and presumably often the intended target. JesseRafe (talk) 21:43, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Steel1943 (talk) 23:00, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging JesseRafe, the requester. Steel1943 (talk) 23:05, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
In books it is the historical "actor Michael Kelly" who comes up. Wikipedia isn't IMDB. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:41, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
What books and what actor? There's a singer, but it was decided in 2007 that he shouldn't be at the (actor) page. There's only one actor on the disambig list and thus his article should be without nationality, as that's an unneeded complication. Seems like an obvious application of Occam's Razor. What does IMDb have to do with anything? JesseRafe (talk) 23:21, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Just did a ctrl+F for "act" on tenor's page, which the closest it comes to what the "books" purport to say only lists him as an "acting-manager", the plain meaning of which should be taken that he was an interim manager, not an actor who managed. I thought this would be uncontested move request (necessitating the redirect deletion) because there are no other notable actors with the name. JesseRafe (talk) 23:27, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nomination. Unless there is specific historical record that the 18th–19th century Irish singer was also an acting performer, the American actor's qualifier should simply indicate "(actor)".    Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 04:41, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. I can see why the nationality was added, as Michael Kelly (tenor) is described as an actor on the dabpage. But he was primarily a singer. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:50, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
