Move to Mercedes-Benz_OM603_engine?[edit]

Isn't Mercedes-Benz_OM603_engine a better place for this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chewie swe (talkcontribs) 11:16, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Skewed to US OM603?[edit]

This entire article hardly recognises the naturally-aspirated OM603 used in Europe and elsewhere. These suffer few of the problems that seem to be experienced in the US, descriptions of which seem to comprise the bulk of this article.

To promote a more balanced POV, should the article not consider more the non-turbo versions and their remarkable longevity alongside the turbocharged US models that seem to have so many problems?

I would start a section on the non-turbo versions, but couldn't see a neat way of doing this without trampling all over discussion of trap oxiders, about which I know very little.

Needs to be split/re-titled[edit]

There isn't really an OM60x series, as the OM601/602/603 and OM604/605/606 are completely different engines (the former being SOHC 2V/cyl and the latter DOHC 4V/cyl). Each engine should probably have its own article, as with the OM604/605/606, especially since there is very little information relevant to the engine family that isn't specific to a single engine.
