slight POV?[edit]

In the section "Murder", the events are represented as factual. I have not found a mention of the convicted admitting the crime (or describing it) in the rest of the article. Therefore, it appears preferable to me to re-write the section "Murder" to reflect that what is described is a reconstruction and that it only supposedly happened as such. (Also, is the use of only the subject's first name usual or does it reflect a slight negative/diminutive(?) bias? As not being a native speaker, I would guess one would not phrase like "Barack Obama is President. When Barack won the election ...") --84.190.61.66 (talk) 07:26, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Usage of first name[edit]

Given the fact that both the suspect and victim shared their last names, it would not be possible to clearly address them using only last names. While this leaves the possibility of full names still open, the shared names only risk adding confusion and uneccesarily lengthening the article. I think given these facts it is appropriate to use first names throughout the article

Editor Beyond My Ken placed no explanation for the undoing of the edits added to the article. Wikipedia Guidelines call for any editor to use the article's TALK page, to open a community discussion on the edits under review. Vwanweb (talk) 04:22, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia guidelines say no such thing, but I'll give you a pass because you're a relatively new editor. (Account created January 2103, but consistent editing only as of January 2106.)
You added a multitude of parameters with no entry. Add only those parameters you have entries for, and there'll be no problem. Other editors can add the other parameters if and when they have values for them. BMK (talk) 04:01, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The use of infoboxes is neither required nor prohibited for any article. How and why did the dismembered body end up where it did?[edit]

I am seeing Chesapeake Bay for finding of such in suitcases, but somewhere on a TV program this is narrowed down to the bridge-tunnel area, placing it between Cape Charles (on the Eastern Shore) and Virginia Beach. Then I am hearing that the murder investigation, which had started in Virginia, was transferred to New Jersey. So I am left wondering about the Subject of the message you are reading. Investigators re-constructed what the face looked like and had it broadcast in a bid for the public's help, and they did indeed get help from nearby because of recollection of the victim serving in the Navy in the Virginia Beach area. I do see this line in a murderpedia article: "according to the prosecution, defendant had returned to Woodbridge to pick up the suitcases for the trip to Delaware and Virginia that night to dump the body."

This stuff about the bridge-tunnel area has me wondering about (subconsciously) getting caught, because of being near people who recognized the reconstructed face. Carlm0404 (talk) 03:23, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A bit thin in places[edit]

I keep coming back to this line: "Melanie later claimed she had moved the car as a "prank"[8] even though she had applied for a protection from abuse order days earlier based on the alleged slapping incident." This is the first mention of a "slapping incident" I can find in the article, and the PRO remark seems relevant. But any explanation beyond that statement is completely lacking. Also missing is any exposition on the "lover" she supposedly killed for. 20/20 just ran a piece on this case, and a lot of what was in there belongs here. But I'm not sure in terms of RS and NPOV and such, so I leave it to others. But there's a lot more to this story. Jororo05 (talk) 03:19, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rename Article?[edit]
