Authority control data[edit]

Some biographies do include more than one template but that is not recommended, I understand.

Conrad II
Mary

Library of Congress Authorities --better than LCCN (above) for entry to the LC Catalog

Conrad III
Conrad IV

VIAF 85731671 VIAF 2159200

Conrad Buff IV is a biography but the other three are redirects, which will someday carry personal Categories and {{authority control}}. --P64 (talk) 21:42, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I added templates {Authority control} (updated for some ID merges) to the personal redirects Mary Buff, Conrad Buff II, Conrad Buff III and the biography Conrad Buff IV. --P64 (talk) 15:51, 29 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Family[edit]

The joint biography mentions but doesn't name two sons, mentions no other family.

We have an article on the architectural firm of Conrad Buff III.

We have a biography of Conrad Buff IV (where Conrad Buff redirects), "the son of the architect Conrad Buff III, and the grandson of the painter Conrad Buff II".

Her name Mary Jordan Marsh (Buff)?[edit]

Note that Library of Congress Authorities (above) cites Contemporary authors oline for "Mary (E. Marsh) Buff". All of her LC catalog records --from data in front matter of the books, i understand-- give Mary Marsh Buff (the two earliest) or simply Mary in "Mary and Conrad Buff" or "Mary & Conrad Buff".

Our source Ask Art conrad_mrs_buff says "Mary (Buff) Marsh is primarily known as Mary Jordan Marsh Buff". Offhand I suppose that may be how she signed paintings.

If she was born Mary Jordan Marsh, is there any relation to the Boston-based department stores Jordan Marsh?

Vital data[edit]

Conrad Buff II at LC Authorities cites LA Times for his death in Laguna Hills, Calif., 1975 no date. Is there any death notice or obituary online?

For Mary Buff we have only 1970, no date or place (nor "at home" or that ilk). --P64 (talk) 00:10, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
