The Mary Ward Comet[edit]

I go to the school and have not heard of this "gossip" magazine. Whoever put this on, is this published at all at the school? —This unsigned comment was added by 70.29.228.200 (talkcontribs) .

Material[edit]

There was alot of material in this article that I deleted, and people believe that it shouldn't have been so. Let's sit down and have a chat about it. =) Yanksox 04:12, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, thanks for replying. This is the edit I was talking about, for reference: [1]. So, I've already mentioned on your talk page that I would like to keep at least some of: Terminology, Clubs and groups, and I forgot to mention Annual events. I've also stated that I don't mind leaving behind: Departments, Amenities, Sports, and Intramurals. If you don't mind if I re-add notable (from my POV) parts of the sections that I'd like to keep, then perhaps we don't actually need to discuss all this. =) --70.25.168.90 04:26, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I won't be able to address all articles at once, but I'll start with terminology. See WP:NOT, that seems to be more of something that should exist for students and not be in an encylopedic entry. Yanksox 05:02, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Which part of WP:NOT does that violate? But on second thought, I guess many of the terms may be better explained in paragraphs detailing the system. Is there anything else that does not belong, in your opinion? --70.25.168.90 05:14, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just to stay on on terminology before I zone out in la-la land, it appears that the terminology is more of something that is a local flavor and wouldn't be widely understood. I am more than willing, and happy, to work on this article further with you. I suggest you place what you desire on this page and we'll discuss it later. Yanksox 05:17, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I'll do that. But currently, I'm quite busy and unable to compose the details, so sorry for the delay. (I myself have fallen victim to the June Rush and have spent little time on Wikipedia, which is mostly for minor tasks such as quick copyediting, updates, and reverts.) I'm just saying that delivering a good composition will make me spend too much effort for my own good at this time. But if you're still willing to work with me on the article next weekend (with only exams left) or the one after (with the regular school year complete), that would be great! What I am planning to accomplish is incorporating the local terminology into a broader explanation of the school system, in order that the general reader will be introduced to these terms with good background. --70.25.168.90 05:46, 4 June 2006 (UTC) P.S. I hope you can understand me because English is my worst subject. lol…[reply]
I'm not asking you to give up you're life, the only reason I have slightly more time is since I just graduated high school. You don't have to do it in full spurts, but place little bits at a time. Yanksox 05:50, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, maybe my poor communication skills have indeed created a misunderstanding, hehehe… but, ultimately, for reasons of proper flow, I think that if I start, I can't stop! (I'm poor at starting a composition and completing bits of it over a period of time because I lose the flow.) I apologize for impatience that I may be stirring. I hope you'll still be happy helping me improve the article in the next two weeks. --70.25.168.90 06:07, 4 June 2006 (UTC) P.S. I might seem mental, but I'm a perfectionist at any type of work.[reply]

"People who transfer from the school are often affectionately labelled "Mary Ward refugees" because the emigration from Mary Ward to another is seen as a satirical liberation from an oppressive dictatorship." That's funny! It is quite true and I bet I know who wrote this. Yet, one can argue, depending on the teacher you get in summer school, the oppresive dictatorship seen in other schools become heighten during the summer months. They're all so stingent and all so strict. Somethign I suppose people in our school aren't used to. --72.59.176.76

Fair use rationale for Image:MaryWard Logo.png[edit]

Image:MaryWard Logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

wu-tang[edit]

All the edits on wu-tang (at the end): are these serious? Or just vandalist jokes? I have my doubts - but correct me if I am wrong. Can people take care of this issue? Thanks.Super48paul (talk) 21:50, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
