Confusion about the subject of this article[edit]

From what I understand, there are three notable men named Martin Dies:

  • Martin Dies Sr. (1870-1922), a U.S. congressman
  • Martin Dies Jr. (1900-1972), also a U.S. congressman, chaired the House Committee on Un-American Activities
  • Martin Jr's son, also named Martin Dies Jr (1921-2001), Texas state senator, Texas Secretary of State, appeals court judge

The original versions of this article were about the Martin Jr. born in 1900. Recent versions appear to contain some info about the second Martin Jr (1921-2001), such as the DOB and DOD, but the article still seems to be mostly about the 1900 Martin Jr. All three subjects should be notable enough for articles.

I think the easiest way forward is to create another article about the second Martin Jr and then make sure we separate all of the facts into the appropriate subject's article. If I create a new entry about the 1921 Martin Jr, what is the easiest way to disambiguate it? Would it just be Martin Dies Jr. (born 1921), maybe with a hatnote on the top of this subject's page? • This article definitely is a mix of multiple people - born 1921 in office 1931! KylieTastic (talk) 13:52, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
