npov and content[edit]

This entire article, and especially the 'songwriting' section, needs to be heavily edited for tone and content. It's stuffed with jargon and unnecessary detail, and the whole thing reads, at best, like a fawning review of the subject and, at worst, like it was written by the subject himself. 97.119.105.143 (talk) 02:38, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The content you mention is based on a detailed article and a video published by Premier Guitar, which is a reputable source in the guitar world. It was definitely not written by the subject itself. While some people might be interested more in his biography, others might be interested more in his gear and technique - Wikipedia should include them both, especially if there are reliable sources which cover this kind of material. For other examples, see Steve Vai#Equipment, Joe Satriani#Equipment, Steve Lukather#Musical_style_and_equipment. --Λeternus (talk) 07:49, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Gotta agree with you there. Although the info about gear is interesting; this frankly seems like a load of B.S.
> Speer prefers the band's compositions to center primarily around bass and drums, instead of guitar. He provides occasional vocals for the band, although he dislikes singing in general.
What a joke. This band is essentially a vessel for endless guitar noodling. Great noodling and excellent guitar, but acting like the compositions don't center around him .... sounds like guitar player syndrome to me :P Honestly the drums and bass are just mostly playing loops the whole time while he solos. BS or not, that's what the sources which the article is based on say. --Λeternus (talk) 23:15, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
