Merge Mark II with Mark Evans (musician)[edit]

Articles on the same subject, the one-time bassist from AC/DC. Mark Evans (musician) is the older of the two articles, and is referenced from more articles, including the disambiguation page Mark Evans. AC/DC itself does reference Mark Evans II. I'm not sure about the II. Is it a title (like 'Mark Evans the Second'), or did someone just choose to name the article II because there already was an article on 'Mark Evans'? It should be noted that the years don't line up: Mark Evans II has 74-77, Mark Evans (musician) has 75-77, and AC/DC has 74-75. Needs sorting. --BillC 19:26, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • It absolutely should be merged. And sorted. TheDavesr 22:00, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've done a bit of work on this article - the Mark Evans II article should be just scrapped altogether - I don't know how to do that though - it's superfluous and not accurate either. Bretonbanquet 16:08, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that; it's clear now that there's nothing left on Mark Evans II that needs or is worth gathering into this article, and it there are no pages that link to it. The easiest way to do it would be to convert it into a redirect, but I can't believe anyone would ever enter 'Mark Evans II' into the search box, so a deletion is a better idea. I have placed a proposed deletion (PROD) notice on Mark Evans II. If no-one contests the deletion (by removing the notice) within a few days, the article will deleted. If someone does remove the notice, the article can be taken to AfD. --BillC 17:35, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that! That should tidy it up nicely :o) Bretonbanquet 17:37, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio[edit]

I had to revert a set of edits by 216.65.210.20. Some the material was a copyvio from [1], and an attempt was made to hotlink to an offsite image (also a copyvio, plus the Wikimedia software doesn't allow it). Some more was a cut-and-paste direct from AC/DC. --BillC 18:54, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's because many are confused by the fact that he was Ac/Dc's first long term bassist. He wasn't on High Voltage, the correct years are 75-77, in 74, during the production of High Voltage, George Young, Malcolm and Angus's older brother and producer, played bass.

Misplaced quote[edit]

If "The day we fuckin' got rid of him..." quote is indeed a reference to Dave Evans and not Mark Evans, as stated, then why is it in this article?

I can't find the quote anywhere, but it's clearly dubious so I removed it. If it later proves to be about Mark Evans and not Dave, it can be put back. Bretonbanquet (talk) 15:57, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong website.[edit]

Hello all.

I noticed the website www.markevansblues.com is actually a website about Japanese education. Unfortunately, I could not find a proper homepage, only a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MarkEvansTFFT/. I am not sure about the correct procedure in such case, so if some more experienced one could help me edit the page in a proper way, I (and hopefully other fans) would appreciate it. BR
