I found her maiden name and birthplace in this database entry of her response to the University of Michigan 1924 Alumnae Survey. I can't figure out how to access the full text of her response, but since she sent in two memories of "Interpersonal relationships -- romantic" it seems to me that there's a chance that the origin of her relationship with Roy Carl Hicks is recorded there! ~ oulfis 🌸(talk) 04:16, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know if this information was there this whole time, but I found a TON of very useful dates and details on the "about" page of the Marguerite Hicks project! Including some great information on James. I feel like the basic facts of this article are now finally in place.
