Los Fabulosos Cadillacs[edit]

Alright, so Los Fabulosos Cadillacs have a song called "Manuel Santillán, el León" on their album El León. For the life of me, I can't think of why they would sing a song about a Mexican geologist and governor, calling him "The Lion." My Spanish is decent, but clearly my understanding of Latin American history and politics is not. Does anyone know if the song refers to him or another Santillán? --BDD (talk) 17:45, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Two years later, I haven't found much outside of questions posed on various answer boards. The best lead I've found is this Spanish source. This Santillán seems to have been an Argentinian revolutionary, which makes much more sense in the context. He seems to be fairly obscure, however. --BDD (talk) 22:54, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I think I've finally caught my white whale. I asked at the Spanish Wikipedia's reference desk, when I noticed the Spanish version of this article said the Cadillacs' Santillán was a fictional character.
