Initial Feedback[edit]

@YixuanLong: Good start! A few pieces of feedback:

  • More references to establish notability. Two of the four references now are primary sources. Link to secondary sources and coverage of the organization in other reliable sources to establish notability.
  • There's a bunch of structure that still isn't filled in. You don't need all of those details so you can just get rid of that structure if you want. Of course, more content and detail is better but empty heading is probably not going to fly.
  • According to the article Hunan Television, Mango TV is a nickname for Hunan Television. I think it's worth spending some to maybe edit that article, and your new article, so that the use of the term in both cases is clear. If this was a nickname that was adapted, it might be worth explaining this. Can you find a source that explains the genesis of the name?
  • There are some simple formatting issues and some strange language issue. What does it mean to say that its in the can? Normally, I think that means that it's been thrown away. I think you mean something else. Just proofread things.
  • Nice infobox! It looks great.

That's it's for now. Good luck! —mako 23:03, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Benjamin Mako Hill:Thanks for your advice!
  • As what we have discussed in your talk page, I edited the redirect article 'Mango TV' and paste my sandbox content into that article. I wonder if that's ok for our task #4 since I didn't use the 'move' tab to move my sandbox article.
  • I uploaded a non-free logo image in the infobox in the article using a rationale to claim fair use. And I removed the logo image from my sandbox page since it has to be used in an article. I hope it would work and doesn't violate any copyright issues.
  • I fixed the problems you have pointed out and added a template to invite others to help with the copy editing.
Looking forward to your feedback! — Preceding unsigned comment added by YixuanLong (talkcontribs)

Peer Review[edit]

@YixuanLong:Hey, it's Julie(Yu)! Under 8th line of History Development section, the word "user" is actually linked to somewhere, but I personal feel a little bit confuse about that linked page. Under the Finance section, I was kind of confuse about why every sentence started from a new paragraph since the meaning seems connected. Otherwise, the article looks great to me! Thanks Julie! What you have said totally makes sense to me. I will look over and see if any improvements can be made on the Finance section.--YixuanLong (talk) 20:14, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@YixuanLong: Hi Yixuan, Before I read this article, I have to admit that I didn't know the difference between  Hunan Satellite TV and Mango TV. Thanks for clarifying this! Also, I have done some copyediting on this article and hope it helps. Please double check all the edits and make sure that I didn't unintentionally change your meanings. And I have several advice:

  • I think some internal links might not be necessary, especially the adjectives. (e.g. interactive). I am not sure why you choose to make them internally linked.
  • For the Product section, is it too weak to have only one product? Would you like to extend more in this part?
  • The heading named Finance sounds a little weird to me, but I can't come up with a better one for now. I will think about it.

Please feel free to discuss further with me! Yiyunl347 (talk) 05:10, 29 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Yiyun, thanks for your suggestions!
  • Some internal links are unnecessary indeed as you pointed out and I will check them again.
  • For the product section, since Mango TV mainly focuses on content creation, the product they have is only a way to provide better services and then strengthen their advantages in exclusive broadcast, therefore I didn't mention too much in the wikipedia article. However, the product section can be expanded with more details to make it more complete.
  • Considering the content in the this section, maybe financing is more appropriate. It is my second thought and welcome to give my advice on that;).--YixuanLong (talk) 20:14, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

List of facts[edit]

Outside of the WP:LEDE, the bulk of this article seems like a list of facts. A bit of work to integrate this into a more free flowing narrative would be useful. —mako 00:01, 4 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Source RE: Censorship?[edit]

“On May 9, 2018, the license which Hunan Broadcasting System got to broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest was taken away after it was revealed that Mango TV, which broadcast Eurovision 2018 for Chinese audiences, censored the Albanian and Irish performances, along with censoring any rainbow flags which were seen in the audience.”

This part of the article has no source. Is there any source (English or Chinese) for this claim? 為什麼會審核阿爾巴尼亞和愛爾蘭的表演? 有資料來源嗎? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:645:4100:9040:3862:CF49:B001:C143 (talk) 22:57, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
