Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (your reason here) --

the website as cited by you namely https://kat.cr/man-mauji-1962-2cd-dvdrip-xvid-ac3-esub-hindi-t5522488.html[1] itself is a torrent circulating site, which is probably illegally circulating the copyrighted material over the internet. The article is describing about a hindi film Man Mauji released in the year 1962. so such film is copyrighted material from the Indian film industry.

Secondly all copyrighted materials are under the copyright only for next 50 years and thereafter such copyrighted materials are public . Kindly refer "Article 12 - Term of Protection" of TRIPS agreement of WTO (Agreement on International Trade, sub-subject - copyrights) https://www.wto.org/english/tratop_e/trips_e/t_agm3_e.htm#1 [2].

The TRIPS (legal texts or the article) is reproduced for your references as below :

Article 12
Term of Protection
"Whenever the term of protection of a work, other than a photographic work or a work of applied art, is calculated on a basis other than the life of a natural person, such term shall be no less than 50 years from the end of the calendar year of authorized publication, or, failing such authorized publication within 50 years from the making of the work, 50 years from the end of the calendar year of making."

and since the 50 years are already over, hence there is no copyright over the article or the article is free from any copyrights.

Infact, the whole information is gathered from the IMDB database, having the link as http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0234195/ [3]. In fact the torrent site which was referred by you had in fact copied/pasted those information from IMDB database itself.

Hence, I protest deletion of the above article based on above-stated reasoning. I hope, you will also agree with my above reasoning.

and I am curiously looking forward towards a reply from you. thanks Maple leaves1707 (talk) 19:09, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Pages such as this one are certainly under copyright. Whether the film is out of copyright in India is immaterial, because regardless of the copyright status of the film in India, the prose you copied describing the plot is under a separate copyright, and you can't copy it here. I have removed the plot decription as the rest of the article is okay from a copyright point of view. Also to note, the copyright status in India is immaterial, as the Wikimedia Foundation is based in the United States and accordingly governed by United States copyright law. — Diannaa (talk) 18:35, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
