"Only" thirteen episodes[edit]

Just to comment that thirteen episodes (pilot plus twelve) was fairly standard for a summer-debuted TV series, with the potential to order a full series of 22 episodes if all goes well. To put this into context, networks around the mid-eighties would often only order 9 episodes with a finger hovering over the kill button if they didn't take off. All thirteen episodes of Mama Malone aired - that would frequently be not the case if a series was a downright disaster, such as NBCs Emeril. At the time there was some bewilderment in the UK press why CBS would cast a British actress in the role of an Italian American. Indieshack (talk) 18:46, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
