Infobox: should Allmusic page (without a review) be listed under Reviews?

The infobox contains a heading "Professional reviews" with a link to Allmusic's page for this album: however, there is no Allmusic review. The information on the linked page is little more than a tracklist: the only information there which is not in the Wikipedia article is an illustration of the cover. I don't think this belongs under Reviews, and at the very least I think we ought to remove the 5 grey stars which may appear to some readers as though Allmusic had rated the album either 0/5 or 5/5. Reasons against deletion

The {{dated prod}} notice (which I have removed from the article page to object to the proposed deletion) cited WP:N and WP:ALBUM concerns. The relevant page Wikipedia:Notability (music) states:

This page in a nutshell:

• A musician or ensemble is notable if it has had some sort of recognition by professional organizations, such as music charts.

• Notability is met if the musician has been the subject of a broadcast by a media network.

I don't think Russia actually has weekly music charts, but Vitas' website claims:

he released nine albums ("Philosophy of Miracle", "Smile!", "Mother", "The Songs of My Mother", "Kiss As Long As Eternity", "Return Home. Part 1", "Return Home. Part 2", "XX-th Century HITS", "Light Of A New Day") which were entered into the Top Three most popular albums in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. (according to the official sales) - he released two singles ("Opera # 2" and "Goodbye"). According to the official sales results, the single "Opera # 2" was awarded a Russian Prize (established by the producers of phonograms "Record") as the bestselling single of 2001, 2002 and 2003

and his televised concert in Bucharest, Romania on 25 Feb 2009 fulfils the second criterion above.

The WP:ALBUM section states:

In general, if the musician or ensemble that recorded an album is considered notable, then officially released albums may have sufficient notability to have individual articles on Wikipedia.

Album articles with little more than a track listing may be more appropriately merged into the artist's main article or discography article, space permitting.

Vitas' discography on Wikipedia is currently a section within the main Vitas article. He has released 9 studio albums, 2 singles and 7 DVDs (including a CD + DVD set), so I do not consider merging full track listings into the main article to be practical.

This article also includes not only the tracklisting in English and Russian but also the songwriting credits: to the best of my knowledge this information is not currently available in English anywhere else on the internet. This should not be a secret shared only by those who own the CD and are able to read Russian. If someone has taken the trouble to write an article and publish it on the best and most comprehensive reference resource in the world, why should this significant information be denied to any reader who comes here in search of it?

I intend to expand on the existing Vitas album articles, this one included, as well as writing articles for those albums which do not already have their own, so we're going to end up with way too much information to include comfortably in the main article. It is perfectly normal for major releases by notable artists to have their own Wikipedia articles, and this is as it should be. Contains Mild Peril (talk) 11:19, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
