Assessment request[edit]

A request to assess this article was made at Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Assessment. The article was previously assessed at Start and Low (for the School Project). At this time, I am not changing this assessment.

Overall, it is a short article. Granted, the school has only been in operation for a little over 20 years, however, more information should be included. A good place to start on this would be WP:WPSCH/AG#S.

The feeder schools probably (for now) belong in demographics, and not the leadin. See WP:LEAD. There are a lot of red links that, from the context of the article, will likely never be blue linked ... these links should probably be eliminated.

In the accreditation section, the reference used to support that the school has met AYP does may not be a reliable source. It seems that this should be easily confirmable with a more reliable government website.

"Rivals" should not be noted in the articles unless definitively established by references. Otherwise, they are strictly opinion, and as such, unencyclopedic.

This is the newest high school in southern Virginia? No new schools in 21 or so years? This needs to be referenced or removed.

The history section should definitely be expanded and properly referenced. Why was the school built? Why there and not somewhere else?

Avoid WP:WEASEL words like ... the county implemented a controversial reorganization plan that closed five schools ... Keep it neutral.

I am keeping this article at low priority because there is no indication that this school meets the mid-range priority status of having at least a few notable alumni, or having won a few major national awards as a school. LonelyBeacon (talk) 03:59, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request
