Dear editor, thank you for alerting me to the fact that I forgot to give inline citations in two cases (the organizations Youssef has joined, in the first paragraph, and the editorial activities, in the last paragraph). I thought of this information as useful but not extremely relevant, compared to what is said in the other, longer paragraphs. I did not pay the required attention, though, to the fact that even minor, secondary information requires exact reference to sources. I thought I had given the information in my own words (which I am probably not incapable of) but it may have been too close to the words used by my source, nonetheless. Again, thank you for helping me to correct things.JoanX.Chen (talk) 22:04, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to add that - as far as I can see - the claim of a copyright violation is based mainly on my use of an alphabetical list of scholarly organizations that Prof. Youssef is a member of. Such information is also contained in the Who is who articles, it must be presumed. I also found it, in the same alphabetical order, on the website of a Cairo-based publisher. In other words, it is widely available to the Arab public, both in Arabic and English. Using this information does not amount to intellectual theft, I'm not appropriating somebody's original thought or discovery. To claim copyright to this information is like claiming copyright to an alphabetical list of the five biggest cities in the U.S., I would say. But I am more than ready to accept Wikipedia standards, which I am slowly getting more familiar with, I hope. If my view of the matter is in conflict with these standards, I will delete the paragraph that lists the organizations Youssef belongs to. I apologize for this somewhat lengthy note to you. At any rate, A happy New Year to you.JoanX.Chen (talk) 22:58, 31 December 2013 (UTC) P.S.: As far as Youssef's editorial activities are concerned, I have added an inline citation.JoanX.Chen (talk) 22:58, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
