One or two infoboxes?[edit]

In terms of article structure, should there be separate sections and infoboxes for the two bridges? ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:57, 14 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I put in sections. If we have enough info, two infoboxen would be reasonable. I haven't delved into the PDF enough to see what info is in there.
I recommend working some information about the Disaster into the First bridge section, with a {{main}} template. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:47, 14 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and split the infobox into 2. I left the image at the top since we aren't sure if it depicts the first or second bridge. ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:18, 14 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There are some additional infobox parameters that could be filled in, but I am not familiar enough with bridge speak (spans, designs, etc) to fill them out with confidence. ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:02, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Coordinates?[edit]

Should this article have coordinates, or is tagging a non-existent bridge confusing? ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:22, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It should. I think providing coordinates for now-demolished buildings and structures is especially informative. But for the sake of precision, I suggest that you first discuss with EncMstr what he just brought up at WT:ORE. Jsayre64 (talk) 00:37, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. In the meantime, I went ahead and added the "Coords missing" tag to the article. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:12, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Update: Coordinates have been added. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:07, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Set for DYK?[edit]

Is it agreed that now that this article is long enough, it should be nominated for DYK? Unless someone has a better idea, I'm thinking the hook should be that a committee of eight Portlanders bought the bridge in 1891 for over $3.8 million in 2015 dollars. (The Madison Street Bridge disaster article should have had a DYK when it was created, by the way.) Jsayre64 (talk) 02:31, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

👍 Like Thanks for nominating! ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:07, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Neighborhood categories and navboxes?[edit]

The Hawthorne Bridge article includes the Buckman, Hosford-Abernethy, and Southwest Portland categories, as well as the Buckman and Hosford-Abernethy navboxes, because the bridge connects these modern-day neighborhoods/regions. Should this Madison Street Bridge articles also include these categories and navigation boxes? I'm leaning toward "yes", since the bridge is part of the history of these regions, but what do others think? ---Another Believer (Talk) 02:09, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I would lean toward yes if former buildings/structures are typically included in such neighborhood categories and navboxes, but I would lean toward no for a neighborhood that was given its name when the Madison Street Bridge no longer existed. Jsayre64 (talk) 06:10, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
