She needs to be in some category that reflects she was not born in the US[edit]

Toms needs to be in some category that reflects she was born in Korea and not in the US. I also have to say I am less than convinced this needs to reflect citizenship. We do not limit nationality categories to those who are citizens of a certain contry. We include nationals of that country as well, in large part because at various times of history there have been large populations that have not had citizenship at all.John Pack Lambert (talk) 18:26, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You are using "needs" in a sense that does not make sense to me. She needs to be in categories that adequately reflect the sourced content of the text of the article. That is the only need for her categories. If we cannot find sources documenting whether she was considered to be Australian, American, not a citizen of anywhere, or something else for her early life in Korea, then we should not have categories guessing which of these might be correct; we should omit those categories unless or until this information can be sourced. The requirement that all claims must be adequately sourced is basic to Wikipedia and if you cannot abide by it and think that your guesses should be used instead then you should not be editing Wikipedia. —David Eppstein (talk) 19:17, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
