Response to notability / proposed deletion challenge[edit]

In reply to Nymf edits of 00:15, 13 March 2010 (Proposing article for deletion per WP:PROD. using TW):

I originally created this article and the Halestorm article more than four years ago. At that time, a more experienced user Quarl was helpful in noting

If there is enough to say about Lzzy Hale other than her relationship with the band then you could write about it in a separate article, otherwise I would just write it in Halestorm.

and I agreed with this then (and still do). Subsequently, Enochlau edited this article with an uncontested minor edit to become a redirect to Halestorm at 12:07, 30 January 2006 which has remained in place for four years.

I would like to propose that a revert to such redirect be reinstated, rather than deletion of this article. Any objections? Xblkx (talk) 09:47, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That seems fine to me. Nymf hideliho! 14:00, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Due to recent increase in popularity of the band, I decided there is enough notability to Lzzy Hale for an article to exist... I created the template and added what I could for this morning, I would like to use a different photo but my place of work blocks Commons so I can't upload or access different photos. I created the article because I came to wikipedia looking for one for her and was surprised not to see one. El3ctr1csheepz (talk) 22:54, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 22 September 2014[edit]

Website halestormrocks.com Please change the website links from http://www.halestormrocks.com to http://www.halestormrocks.com and adding her clothing and jewelry line website http://www.scissorhappybylzzyhale.com [1] [2] Warrior queen21 (talk) 07:15, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: that's what the website link already is. Don't see a point in adding her store website when there is no content about her clothing/jewelery line in the article, we're not here to advertise for her. Would make sense to include this to the external links if there were somereliably sourced bit from another party about her line in the article. Cannolis (talk) 04:28, 22 September 2014‎

On Aug 29th 2009 Halestorm was the opening act for Heaven and Hell in Atlantic City at The House Of Blues. This was Ronnie James Dio's final live performance. Lzzy has recently become one of many artists to feature on the Dio tribute album - Ronnie James Dio This Is Your Life released 25 March 2014. Along with the rest of Halestorm she recorded track 5 of the album "Straight Through The Heart".

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Youtube is not a great source, would like to see a secondary source that says they did this and felt it was notable enough to comment on. Cannolis (talk) 07:20, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Birth date corrections[edit]

The correct birth year is 1983. This information is sourced from Official twitter & tumblr accounts of Lzzy Hale (which are both verified or/and linked from Halestorm official site) and are the only official source of her birth date.... Currently we have an incorrect information (1984 birth year) which is sourced from completely unverified source.

The fourth Lzzy[edit]

Even though Lzzy says she is the fourth “Elizabeth Hale”, that doesn’t mean she is the IV. That would require the Elizabeths to have been sequential (her mom, grandmother, etc.). Tiggeritian (talk) 04:21, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I see she referred to herself as that in [1] https://www.billboard.com/music/rock/halestorm-roaring-back-from-the-dead-with-no-1-hits-summer-tour-1235113380/amp/Tiggeritian (talk) 06:56, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox instrument parameter[edit]

@FMSky: please follow WP's policies and guidelines and stop edit warring based on your WP:original research. Reliable sources determine notability as such, not you or I. Hale is reportedly notable for being a guitarist and has won awards for that. She is not notable per reliable sources for any other instruments she may have used in any capacity over the years. This applies across the board for all other artist articles on WP. WP:OR: "[Original research] includes any analysis or synthesis of published material that serves to reach or imply a conclusion not stated by the sources." Again, if you cite reliable sources calling her a keyboardist, then you can note it in the infobox. Lapadite (talk) 23:57, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

i added a source that says "pianist" --FMSky (talk) 23:59, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Band[edit]

Actually they came out before 2014. Because I heard their music when my youngest was newborn. He was born in 2012. I fell in love with this band when “Familiar taste of poison” came out 174.251.135.174 (talk) 12:12, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what you mean, given that both this article and Halestorm indicate earlier dates. Primefac (talk) 12:15, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking on mental health[edit]

As Lzzy's ongoing efforts to draw attention to mental health continuing are continuing to get increasing attention, should that information be more prominent (either some sort of mention in the the lede or a subhead in in Personal Life)?

Examples:

Lzzy Hale Is Hell-Bent On Busting The Mental Health Stigma In Hard Rock

Hale Discusses Mental Health Awareness And Her #RaiseYourHorns Campaign

Probably. Primefac (talk) 14:08, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2023 update[edit]

I am planning to work on doing substantial updating of Halestorm-related pages. As I'm not super familiar with Wikipedia style, I'm planning to look at the Evanescence page as a model since I know there the was a WikiProject dedicated to it. I welcome any advice or edits. Tiggeritian (talk) 06:27, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm happy to take a look at your work as you progress. The one main thing (which I was just about to come here to start a discussion about) is the growing-ever-longer (and probably excessive) list of guest appearances. It was fine when it was shorter, but now that it's almost longer (in number of lines) than the rest of the article it's a bit much. I feel like complete removal is probably a bit much, and there's not quite enough to really merit having an entire "Discography" page just for Lzzy, but it definitely needs a serious trim. Primefac (talk) 11:51, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The page for Amy Lee links to both a discography and a list of songs. I know Amy's includes her solo work, but it seems to me like it would make sense to create one of those (I'm not clear on the difference) for Lzzy. The list is currently sitting at 20+, and it is clear Lzzy plans for it to continue growing. Alternatively, someone started a table at the bottom of the page, but I'd either want to simplify it or need someone else to look up the various chart positions. Tiggeritian (talk) 22:54, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thing is, though, Amy Lee has a solo career along with being in Evanescence, so it makes it easier to have that sort of dual coding. Hale herself doesn't really have her own discography since it's just Halestorm's discography. Primefac (talk) 13:37, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Guest appearances[edit]

As I mentioned above, I shortened Lzzy Hale § Guest appearances rather significantly, converting to prose and only keeping those bands who were bluelinked and had independent references. I honestly don't see much point in listing the minor details of every guest appearance she's made. Posting here in case there is dissent and/or to allow for further discussion (i.e. I'm open to suggestion on how to proceed from here). Primefac (talk) 13:37, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve been confused about the value of long paragraphs, particularly ones that are just bluelinked items with citations. I find them hard to read and harder to use when I looking for something specific. But, as I said earlier, I know I’m not used to Wikipedia’s style—that will change my plan to do a lot of work on the Halestorm page as my writing style is significantly different.
