Longest At Bat[edit]

The article says that he has one of the longest at bats, fouling off 10 balls and having a 24 pitch at bat. This is not cited and it does not add up. Now, I have heard of him hitting 24 fouls on 9-19-40, but I don't know the validity of it and it isn't cited here. The longest one I know of is Roy Thomas, who had 22 fouls, a full count, and a triple, putting him at around 26 pitches (I don't know if he had any strikes)...So thats why I took some of that out about him having the longest at bat. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.151.69.47 (talk) 00:34, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

24th edition of Uncle John's Bathroom Reader, page 394, says it was 28 pitches - September 19, 1940 against Red Ruffing of the Yankees. :) 2001:56A:FA85:3800:5CAA:1E9C:D66:AA82 (talk) 22:31, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
