Latin[edit]

This link and this link say that the praenomen Lucas (from Latin) is a contraction of Lucanus (from Latin), literally meaning "of Lucania". Lucania itself derives from the ethnonym Lucani an ancient people after whom Lucania was named. Alexander 007 06:58, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

  • Oppose merger. Lucas (surname) is the parallel for Lukas, but I believe the surname project would want to keep them separate too. -- JHunterJ 11:19, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
