Entertainment in South Korea and Avex Trax in Japan. ==Life and career==
===1990–2010: Early life and career beginnings===

Lu Han graduated from the Beijing Shida Middle School and attended the Beijing Haidian Foreign Language Shi Yan School before leaving for South Korea to attend Yonsei University as an exchange student. He currently attends the Seoul Institute of the Arts with a major in "Applied Music."

In 2010, while studying in Seoul, Luhan was scouted by an SM representative in Myungdeong. This casting agent recommended he audition for the company through the annual "S.M. Casting System." Luhan passed the audition and became a trainee.

===2011–2014: EXO===

Along with EXO-M members Tao, Chen, and EXO-K's Kai, Luhan made his first televised performance on SBS's Gayo Daejun event on December 29.

Luhan was the second EXO member to be introduced. He is one of four Chinese members out of twelve. EXO-M and their K-pop subgroup, EXO-K, released their prologue single "What Is Love", on January 30, 2012. The group released their second prologue single "History" on March 9.They held their first pre-debut showcase in Seoul's Olympic Stadium on March 31, 2012.[3] The group held their second showcase and first press conference in the Great Hall of the Beijing University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China on April 1.[4]

The group's official debut single "Mama" was released on April 8, followed by an EP, Mama, on April 9.[5][6] On April 8, EXO-M made their debut performance in China at the 12th Yinyue Fengyun Bang Awards performing "Mama.'[7] The group achieved commercial success with their first studio XOXO and its repackaged version in 2013. The album became the first album in twelve years to sell over one million copies in South Korea and is the 11th best selling album of all time.[8] EXO returned with Overdose in May 2014 which became the best selling album of 2014.

As of August 5, 2014, Luhan became the Guinness World Record holder for the "Most Comments on a Weibo Post."[9]

On October 10, Luhan filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment to nullify his contract, claiming the company treated EXO's Korean members differently from its Chinese ones.[1]

===Solo career===

Luhan won the "Most Valuable Star" award alongside Li Bingbing at the 2014 Baidu Moments Conference. The award was based on Baidu's estimation of his popularity through Internet searches, mentions, and votes.[10][11] He also won the "Asia Popular Idol Award" at the iQiyi's year-end award ceremony.[12] Luhan finished filming his first acting role in the Chinese film "20 Once Again," which is expected to be released in January 2015.[13][14]

ChinaLineDefense (talk) 20:14, 2 January 2016 (UTC) Please put (entertainer) next to LuHan's name and not singer because he works in several different fields such as acting and the fashion industry; he went back to the music industry only really recently and isn't 100% focused on itChinaLineDefense (talk) 20:14, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edit[edit]

Please, can you put (entertainer) next to LuHan's name and not just (singer) because he currently works in several fields such as the movie industry, the fashion industry and the music industry obviously, but it's not his main activity. He went back to the music industry only really recently and only released digital material so far. He did say that he'll most likely do concerts this year though,but his activities in the music industry won't outdo his acting in any way, it'd be balanced out at most ChinaLineDefense (talk) 20:28, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I agree , can you change it to entertainer as well Milkihearteu (talk) 15:42, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification on name (and subsequent move?)[edit]

It is unclear whether the name should be in the style of Luhan or Lu Han, the second of which is pretty standard for Chinese names. Is there a source that can clarify the style of his name? Both styles are used in the article. If the name does turn out to be "Lu Han", a move would be needed. Zamaster4536 (talk) 11:10, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The way I look at it, his real name is Lu Han and his stage name in Korea is Luhan. Since he's not active in Korea anymore, maybe the page should be moved to Lu Han (singer). (Of course, Lu Han and Luhan are exactly the same in Korean, so this is actually a distinction in English-language sources.) Random86 (talk) 00:18, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
