Travelcard Transfer[edit]

As well as touts attempting to sell discarded Travelcards, it is also not uncommon - especially at surburban stations - for alighting passengers to give their used cards away as they leave the station; for example, to someone waiting at a ticketing machine. Penalty Fares[edit]

Could someone with enough experience (something that I do not believe I have) please take note of the following and edit this article accordingly;

Regarding Penalty Fares & Ticket Evasion, the penalty fare has been changed and is now £50 but it is reduced to £25 if paid within 21 days.

This currently applies across all modes of transport, including London Overground, London Underground, London Buses, Croydon Tramlink and Dockland Light Railway. However, this does not apply on National Rail train services including the Southern service between Watford Junction and East Croydon as the penalty fare on there still remains at £20 with the potential for a £1000 prosecution.

As stated above, I do not believe I have enough experience or knowledge to do this and I do not want to mess up the whole article or get into any trouble etc for doing anything wrong.

Zoning example needed[edit]

The current discussion of zones makes an uncited comment about "what makes the zones work", which should be amplified. "Work" in what sense. Don't define "work", define what the intent of the zones is, and give support for how that intent is satisfied (and preferably, also ways in which it is not satisfied).

Also, another example should be added explaining the fare, for example, between two points in zone 4. 24.130.145.204 (talk) 13:07, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Arrow on older tickets[edit]

The old tickets used to have an arrow together with the "this side up" notice, but this pointed left on the yellow tickets and right on the season tickets. As far as i know the ticket barriers will read the magnetic stripe in both directions and only refuse tickets that are inserted upside down.
