Notability[edit]

If it was the head chef Rory Carville who earned the michelin star is the restaurant notable at all? Can notability be inherited from the chef? Theroadislong (talk) 20:50, 12 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No, formally the star is awarded to the restaurant but in effect to the restaurant-chef combination. When the chef leaves, usually the star will disappear too. A chef can not take a star with him but he will be staying in the eye of Michelin. For example, Henk Savelberg left four restaurants and lost four times his star. As far as I know, the only chef who gained a star in four different restaurants. In each restaurant he had to prove himself again on the plate. The Banner talk 21:06, 12 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
