Intelligence[edit]

"It is too much for his limited intelligence to deal with" is only the storyteller (Quicksilver)'s opinion. Lockjaw is not truly a gigantic dog, as he appears to be, but one of the Inhumans themselves, and that he possesses human-level intelligence. Lockjaw can even speak, although with great difficulty. Apparently Lockjaw originally had a humanoid form until, as a child, he was placed within the mutagenic terrigen mists as other Inhumans are.

I believe that's been retconned away because, honestly, it never made much sense. The other Inhumans have always treated Lockjaw as a dog. Maybe a brighter-than-average dog, but still basically a dog. If he's an Inhuman who merely looks like a dog, then that makes them a bunch of insensitive jerks. 92.19.133.152 (talk) 19:49, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For whatever it is worth, the Marvel Universe game Ultimate Alliance clearly portrays Lockjaw as a canine. For example, there is specific dialogue with Ben Grimm affectionally calling Lockjaw a 'fleabag'. Lots42 (talk) 21:23, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Puppy[edit]

During Claremont's run on Fantastic Four, the Four acquired a puppy (called, as far as I recall, simply "Puppy"), who was clearly an infant version of Lockjaw, complete with antennae and teleportation. Should an article of Lockjaw & the Pet Avengers be made?

Alien?[edit]

As previously stated, Lockjaw is not truly a gigantic dog, as he appears to be, but one of the Inhumans themselves, and that he possesses human-level intelligence.
