Coronet Solo[edit]

The article states that the EC-130 was first designated Coronet Solo. I thought those were EC-121s ? Fightin' Phillie (talk) 18:17, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually the EC-121 was referred to as the Warning Star. Jak474 (talk) 16:24, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, but why the stupid name?[edit]

I came here from the US PSYOPS article where they had a photo of 'COMMANDO SOLO' flying by the statue of liberty. I thought wow, that's an incredibly idiotic name, I would think psyops groups would have logical reasons behind things and wouldn't have a name that would seem silly and thus lose credibility so wanting to know this reason I clicked the link came here and was still none the wiser. Does anyone know why it has such a stupid name? It sounds like some kind of retarded GI Joe figureine cross over with the soft drink SOLO, even down to the capital spelling. Is it an abbreviation for something? Or did someone just let their 4 year old name a plane? This is going to bug me now. :< <!//– ☠ ʇdɯ0ɹd ɥsɐq ☠ // user // talk // twitter //–> 02:57, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It actually depends on the type of equipment the EC is carrying. For example, the EC-130 which carries 4 bullet arrays on the tail is known as the EC-130 RIVET RIDER. Jak474 (talk) 16:26, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
