Beach Photo[edit]

Changed the back photo, incorrectly it stated it was West Beach, this is not true, West Beach is the other side of the river (coincidentally, the west side ;))....Labelled East Beach correctly now.

Churches[edit]

Isn't St. Catherine's the Catholic church, with St. Mary's being the Anglican parish church? In either case however I'm fairly certain Kitty O'Shea is in the town cemetery not a church graveyard. (Have corrected entry having been to visit the grave thereby confirming its location).

Article problems[edit]

East Beach Café[edit]

There are to many weasel words used in this section, if the comments have been put on record then there should be a record (such as in the local newspaper) to cite.

Some rewriting and :[edit]

  • History ought to appear in its rightful place - at the beginning!
  • where is the 50k population figure? the West Sussex pdf file shows my figure: 25k; so where are the rest? NB I have put all the population info under one heading
  • surely the railway made the port LESS important, not more?
  • & why wasn't the town council website on the Elink list?

Peter Shearan 13:50, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't claim to know anything about Littlehampton in particular, but it would seem logical that the railway would make the port more important - it would be a lot easier to transport goods & people in and out. --Ling, 16:06, 12 March 2006

Lifeboat[edit]

I've edited the lifeboat section slightly so that events follow date order. Sharm 13:59, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Proposal[edit]

Guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements state that ideally the civil parish (Littlehampton) should be the catch-all article, avoiding single line articles on every village and landmark within the parish.

Therefore, I suggest villages within the parish (Toddington, West Sussex) to be merged and redirected to Littlehampton. ++ MortimerCat (talk) 01:06, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rutlandeye's August change[edit]

By the way, this reversion of a change by Rutlandeye was a good catch. A look at Special:Contributions/Rutlandeye as of this writing shows nothing but a series of changes combining unsourced assertions with occasional malformed sandbox-like experiments. 72.244.204.110 (talk) 06:33, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Body Shop Photo[edit]

Could anyone upload a picture of the body shop headquarters, in the Economy bit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.199.101.10 (talk) 19:25, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted LA Pebbles On The Beach[edit]

I've deleted the sentence on LA Pebbles On The Beach in the Arts and Culture section as it hasn't run for three years and doesn't seem to be a well-established event Mightyhansa (talk) 12:17, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Casino in the town centre[edit]

I've deleted the sentence in the attractions section about the casino in the town centre because there isn't a casino in the town centre.Mightyhansa (talk) 10:26, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

East beach cafe and sections[edit]

I have deleted the local issues section as it only had one issue in there (East beach cafe) and wasn't inline with guidelines on How to write about settlements

As a result I placed it in the attractions section, which has been renamed Commerce and tourism to better reflect guidelines and other similar town pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mightyhansa (talkcontribs) 11:28, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Glasshouse Crops Research Institute[edit]

Glasshouse Crops Research Institute (GCRI) was sited in Worthing Road, Littlehampton for 42 years from 1953 to 1995 and employed at times over 200 people. I believe it was worthy of mention in the History of Littlehampton.JonStephenHorridge (talk) 14:14, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
