Razer has to do with gaming - not watches!

It's Seiko watches at https://www.seikowatches.com - not epson print!

Manufacturer verses seller?[edit]

There are a lot of brands listed here. But how many of these names actually manufacture watches, versus contract somebody to manufacture for them to sell? I imagine Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe & Co., Seiko and Citizen all design, engineer, and manufacture the watches that bear their names. I suspect that Calvin Klein, Polo Ralph Lauren, Burberry, Dior, Hugo Boss, and dozens of other on this list have their artists draw up a sketch of what they want a watch to look like and where they want all the diamonds to be, and then somebody else does the engineering and manufacturing. Can there be a separate list for companies that actually make watches, versus companies that sell watches with their brand name on it?

Poljot Watches[edit]

Seems to me like they are still in production or at least have resumed production. No indication on the website they stopped, and lots of dealers are selling new models I've never seen before. Lost Cosmonaut 21:01, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Answer: Poljot Watches are not produced at the moment.... Poljot is owned by Sergei Pugatchev. Poljot has plans to restart production, but these plans are unclear. There are many old stock and second hand Poljots sold on the internet. But the picture is a rather more complicated. The manufacture of the Poljot 3133 and related hand chronograph movements was sold to Maktime who continue to make movements and watches under their own name and to sell the movements to other manufacturers. The Alarm movement was sold to Vostok who rarely use it. The Aviator, Sturmanskie and Buran brands were sold to VM, a consortium of former Poljot employees who continue to manufacture high quality watches under those names. Juri Levenburg, based in Munich is connected with Moscow Classic, Pilot and other brands made in Russia using largely Maktime 3133 variant movements. A company called Poljot International make their own watch range using mainly Russian parts. They are based in Germany. All the above watches are sold by vendors using the Poljot name as a generic term for any watch using movements which were originally Poljot products. But in fact the above explanation largely applies. There are also a number of fakes on the market and also "frankenstein" watches made up by combining bits from several watches into a working whole. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.162.235.95 (talk) 16:05, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Counterfeit manufacturers[edit]

Knobcheeseeater 22:43, 20/11/2011 (UTC) there is no mention of rolex on these watch cases so should not be considered a counterfeit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.40.165.3 (talk) 20:47, 24 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Protection[edit]

I don't think we need protection for the article yet. Let's hold off and just keep an eye on it for now. Thanks.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 12:47, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This was deleted as an addition. It did not have the link. I would assume they are from the same or related company? 7&6=thirteen () 14:18, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Add country of origin?[edit]

Add country of origin to the list to make it more informative and not a duplicate of Category:Watchmakers? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:120B:2C77:21F0:11C2:2707:5697:C22B (talk) 08:52, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
