It seems like it would be good to include a statement why these haven't been numbered, or whether some will eventually be numbered and how that happens. Tom Ruen (talk) 12:53, 21 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's what I'm saying: for X='List of unnumbered trans-Neptunian objects discovered', 'X before 1999', X in 1999, X in 2000, X in 2001, ... Praemonitus (talk) 16:42, 7 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm slightly in favor of splitting this list up, since 1) it will continue to grow, and 2) there is probably a simply way to separate. I'm strongly against splitting being done 'exclusively due to policy', since there are many lists > 200kB that are best left as-is. ~Tom.Reding (talk ⋅dgaf) 16:25, 7 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Had anyone proposed "splitting exclusively due to policy", you may have had a point. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:30, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
We did this with Lists of exoplanets and I think it worked out really well. I'd agree to go with "before 2000" and then a page for every year after that. I'm happy to do the legwork. And similar to the list of exoplanets, we could have a "full" page that would transclude the individual pages, for those who want to see the full list all at once.
