Considering that La Libertad region has seven universities and they are all located in the same city (Trujillo), I think it could the name could be City of Trujillo, because it's the same thing that in Lima (all the universities are located in the main city of the region). Mr. Anonymous, if you take a look at the list, you will notice that many of the regions only have one city with universities. There are two reasons for the city of Lima being separate from the region.

  1. It is not part of the Lima Region it is part of the Lima Province which does not belong to any region
  2. It is the capital of the country. Being the capital gives it special privledges

Vivaperu... Eso de que Lima no es parte de ninguna región es falso, ya que la ciudad de Lima está dentro de la Provincia de Lima que a la vez es la Región Lima Metropolitana. Esto se dió en las leyes de descentraización. Puede leer este artículo. http://www.munlima.gob.pe/region/origen.htm
