trim?[edit]

Anyone mind if I trim the red links and change this list to be a list of sound artists with WP articles? That would simplify the checking of notability. Doctormatt 19:52, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay - no response. I'm not making the change. Doctormatt 00:57, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Artists Listed[edit]

In order to cite references for the "list of sound artists" one would need to rely on the current publications. Perhaps someone should compile a complete list based on all the books and articles that specifically state they are about "sound art" (this does not include all the books on the "reference" list because many of them predate the term). However, I feel this would still not address the subject adequately, as there is so much contention over the meaning of the term in the different publications and throughout the history of the genre.

It is worth noting that there is no hard evidence of the term being used IN PRINT prior to the cited usage by Bill Hellerman and Don Goddard in 1982. HelenDanforth (talk) 19:11, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Added references[edit]

Reliable references were added that I hope clarify that this category is indeed as murky as described. HelenDanforth

The first reference link no longer works. There is another copy here http://blog.lib.umn.edu/willow/sound/What%20is%20Sound%20Art.doc though I don't know if you want to change the link 14.201.111.133 (talk) 04:52, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
or this seems to be a better link that is likely where the original moved too, i'll change it http://www.emf.org/emfinstitute/aldrich/aldrich.html 14.201.111.133 (talk) 05:26, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
