My second edit to this Wikipedia list[edit]

Hello editors of Wikipedia!

I would like to explain my second edit to this Wikipedia list in more detail.

What I changed:

I changed the definition portion of the list by putting the different definitions into a table format. The first column contains an organization, the second column contains that organization's definition of mass shooting, and the third column counts how many mass shootings on the list would fit based on that definition. I think this is a positive change that will make the list less biased because it takes every definition into account, whereas it used to primarily favor more lenient ones. Please inform me if you have any issues with it.

Notes Section[edit]

Anybody have an idea why the notes in the chart are not stacking for the same note as they did in List of mass shootings in the United States in 2023? I only just saw your message. Regardless of your political affiliation and the factuality, I think what you should be taking from this list is that there is a great national issue and that it needs to be addressed. Many of the victims of these incidents are children and teenagers and they often happen to the already most disadvantaged groups of people in the United States. Be more specific with locations in cities[edit]

Hello!

I believe it to be beneficial to the readers of this list if we included neighborhoods, regions, or general cardinal directions at the very least when an incident occurs in a city (and by city I mean usually around 100,000+ population because they're more likely to have these distinguishing features).

Cities naturally tend to have the most incidents and I think it adds positively to the list whenever these things are noted in the summary of an incident, rather than having 22 Chicago incidents (like last year) with no additional information about where exactly it actually happened in the city.
