Before 1660[edit]

Everything prior to 1660 needs to be removed. It's false to assume any these people were heirs to the Danish throne. The decision on who succeeds to the Danish throne was elective until 1660. It was just tradition to elect the son or for a king to have his son elected and recognized as Prince Elect of Denmark in his lifetime. Christian III was not elected as King of Denmark until 1534, more than one year after his father's death. Frederick III was not elected as King until two or three months after. Successions and concepts of heirs to the throne by birth was not used until after 1660 when Denmark became an absolute monarchy.--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 02:31, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
