Article name[edit]

I don't think that these are "generic names" of political parties, but common names. Generic is something that is general or inclusive rather than specific, unique, or selective. I propose that the article be renamed List of common names of political parties. Comments? Ground Zero | t 14:33, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Can someone disambiguate generic name for me, in the context of politics? Wbm1058 (talk) 17:59, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think this edit summary translates it:
  • 13:02, 7 February 2012‎ Ground Zero (talk | contribs)‎ . . (7,849 bytes) (-61)‎ . . (this isn't a list of all parties, but a list of generic names -- i.e., a list of disambiguation pages)
i.e., generic name ≡ name requiring disambiguationWbm1058 (talk) 03:18, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2009 December 11#Category:Lists of political parties by generic name: Category:Lists of political parties by generic name moved to Category:Political party disambiguation pages. Perhaps this article page is redundant to that category and should be deleted. – Wbm1058 (talk) 04:39, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
