List of Kings and Queens Section Should be Deleted[edit]
I understand adding politicans of Chinese descent, but adding entire dynasties some of which are centuries old off either mythological descent or because they married a few Chinese princesses is absurd. By this same logic the Yamato House of Japan can be listed as "Korean Descent" using this logic just because Emperor Kanmu married a Baekje Princess. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sunnyediting99 (talk • contribs) 22:44, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- Again I think the Kings and Queens section should be changed into listing specific indivdiuals, for example saying Yi Seong Gye, founder of the Joseon Dynasty, was of Chinese descent. It is questionable to have entire dynasties for multiple foreign countries be characterized as having Chinese descent (if we go into the 68th generation, it reaches a point where you aren't really "Chinese" or some other ethnicity. Reiterating the point, this could be used to say the Yamato House of Japan is of "Korean Descent" based off Emperor Kanmu's marriage to a woman of Baekje descent, and then you could even go further and say that because Baekje itself had "Chinese descent" that Japan's royal family is also of "Chinese descent." At a certain point it really is just pushing the realms of logic.
- If there aren't objections, i'll slowly begin changing the section to list the important rulers, noting for example their role as "Founder of X Dynasty" or noting the either direct or mythological connection, but saying an entire dynasty is of descent because of a millenia old claimed descent is really a bit of a strech.
