Fastest to $50 million[edit]

Do you think there is any point to retaining this chart? It is basically just a list of films that grossed the most on their opening day. Betty Logan (talk) 18:45, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There is no "Biggest opening day" on this list so I think Fastest to $50 million should be kept until around 7 films on Fastest to $100 million are also the opening day. PrimeHunter (talk) 20:51, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There is this: List_of_highest-grossing_openings_for_films#Biggest_opening_day_in_a_single_territory. But it's not that big a deal really, it doesn't compromise the article; I just thought we could shave a few bytes off the page. Betty Logan (talk) 21:01, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rise of Skywalker[edit]

Per BoxOfficeMojo, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker made $517m worldwide by its 6th day, so it should be on the "Fastest to $500m" list.

Ordinary Person (talk) 03:35, 28 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

According to Deadline Hollywood, The worldwide gross through Wednesday is $516.8M. That refers to Wednesday, December 25, 2019. The global release date was Wednesday, December 18, 2019 (see Box Office Mojo). That makes for 8 days, not 6. TompaDompa (talk) 16:11, 28 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Avatar: The Way of Water[edit]

It is said that the film reached $1 bilion after 14 days of release... But it also said that reached that milestone on 27 december, being released on 14 december. 27-14 = 13 so the film at least spend 13 days, not 14 to reach that milestone, despite what the source said. Jotzy (talk) 11:00, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You are dropping a day by working out the difference, rather than counting individual days. For example, if it had grossed $1 billion on its second day that would have been 14–15 (a difference of just one day by your method of calculation), but it still would have taken a second day to cross $1 billion.
