People of Punjab[edit]

The people of punjab are very traditional. They always follow their culture i.e; most of the people belong to rural areas. They use to wear shalwar kamez but you also find people wearing dhoti or lacha. In village areas people use to grow crops like wheat, corns, rice, sugarcane etc. They have derah or haweli where they use to sit for discussions. They gather there for meetings. They have cattle on their derahs or haweli. They are self-esteemed and care much about there self respect. And this is the reason these people are thought to be cruel some but actually they are the people with great dignity. And this is proved by the discussion that they are found fighting on the fields and plots and many other reasons. These people think that fields are mothers and on the basis of number of fields and haves and have nots they are divided into many castes such as malik, butt, jutt, gujjar.
