Episode miscount[edit]

Starting with season 8, there's an episode miscount. I don't feel like correcting it myself as it would take way too much time, but if there's someone out there who can fix it, it would much appreciated Dpm12 (talk) 00:51, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is worse. I was unable to find the Face on Mars part in a rewatch of the episode and the numbering is off. Episode 15 here is episode 17 on YouTube and IMDb. The summaries are also different. The Alcatraz episode had no wanteds. --Auric talk 09:38, 13 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Easier to read episode list[edit]

Since whatever genius made the god awful changes to the list, making them all on a single line rather than an actual list, it's messy and difficult to read. So, if you're just trying to look through the list and want to avoid a headache, the original is available in the history here. Mad claps for people who hate everyone else so much they make formatting utter garbage. --WaffleTruth (talk) 17:53, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Citation clean out[edit]

This article seems to be extremely bloated with citations that have nothing to do with the TV series. We have no need to provide verification that some murder happened. That's a job for the show creators. This page should only be linking to sources that verify details about the show and its episodes. Would anyone like to disagree before I go through the trouble of removing them? -- Fyrael (talk) 15:49, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

Trying to fix this, but does anyone have a reliable source for airdates? Everyone I can find just cribs from the old version of this. Sumanuil. (talk to me) 19:10, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can I ask what exactly are you doing Sumanuil?
The majority of the "case type" that the original episodes would introduce each case and the case file "title" (as listed by https://unsolvedmysteries.fandom.com/wiki/Unsolved_Mysteries_Wiki - which is a site UM fans have been using as a consistent and accurate source of information for years now) seem to have been changed to generic titles that aren't helpful at all.
Plus the original air dates seem to be missing now?!
And a lot of UM fans who have copies of original episodes as aired on TV - not the mishmash that FilmRise has uploaded to YT - provided solid and accurate information to this list over the years.
And now it looks like someone is undoing all that work?! Darkcolt1066 (talk) 07:37, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry that I was unaware that they had altered episodes so drastically. It would be very helpful if we had the wiki's sources, because we can't really cite fandom.com directly, and everywhere else I can find is cribbing from FilmRise's listings.Sumanuil. • * * URGENT * * *

All the edits that have been actioned by "Sumanuil" from 01:53 6 November 2022 onwards (with the reason allegedly being "Where did all this come from? None of this corresponds to the actual episodes. It's not even the right number of episodes.") requires undoing and removal ASAP!

UM fans who have access to the original broadcasts of the TV series have been adding information about case "types" (the segment title introducing the case); case "titles" (as listed by the Fandom Wiki site for Unsolved Mysteries see https://unsolvedmysteries.fandom.com/wiki/Unsolved_Mysteries_Wiki); and dates for each episode as originally aired on TV for several years now.

Yet, suddenly all of their hard work has been undone because someone has carelessly assumed that it is incorrect and that most likely the FilmRise series of Unsolved Mysteries on YouTube are the original episodes when the fact of the matter is they are not!

So Wiki Administrators please have this looked at and corrected urgently TIA! Darkcolt1066 (talk) 04:19, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We don't need an admin. What we need is sources that don't copy FilmRise's listings. And maybe a disclaimer so no one else makes the same mistake.Sumanuil. (talk to me) 05:36, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much Sumanuil for quickly correcting this error! Your suggestion for a disclaimer to prevent others from repeating the same mistake is commendable and I hope it's looked into and acted upon since many have been made the honest mistake in assuming the FilmRise version of Unsolved Mysteries is the original series until they've looked more closely at the broadcast history of the TV show and noted numerous and various discrepancies, like missing segments etc, from the FilmRise version.
