The list is unstructured and unsourced[edit]

The author has gone, so there is little chance that someone helps.
There is a parallel category Category:Memon people. Xx236 (talk) 08:02, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed mention of this list-article at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Lists and commented there. I disagreed there that this is unsourced: the sourcing is in the linked articles, and doesn't need to be copied over.
About improving this list, one thing I wonder about is the ordering. It appears to be sorted by first name, or am I misunderstanding how these names work. Should Abdool Razack Mohamed be listed first, or under the "M"s? Or it could be sorted by birth-year, perhaps.
Update: Well apparently "Mohamed" is the last name, because now the person's article includes {{DEFAULTSORT:Mohamed, Abdul Razack}}, so it sorts properly in the category display. Some of the other articles have been fixed that way, but not all. It would improve this list-article to use DEFAULTSORT properly in all those articles, then copy-paste in the new category display in proper order. --Doncram (talk) 07:01, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly it could also be improved by adding some info about each member, e.g. date ranges of births and deaths, and/or what was occupation or significance of each person. That way it could be more helpful for a reader who is browsing. There's little hint in just the names.
How does this one compare to other lists of notable persons of other ethnic/national groups? --Doncram (talk) 06:57, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
