Misquoted source on Hawkeye Pierce politics
The Alan Alda quotation about Hawkeye Pierce's political leanings is incorrectly transcribed, omitting a key word that alters its meaning. The article gives the quote as: "Some people think he was very liberal. But he was a traditional conservative." But what Alda actually says in the video interview used as a citation is: "Some people think he was very liberal, but he was *also* a traditional conservative." (Emphasis added.) This a non-trivial error; the meaning is very different. Alda did not say that the character is conservative rather than liberal.
