Inclusion criteria and references[edit]

Hi. I note a few issues with this list article, its title, lead and members. In terms of:

List criteria (scope), while the title gives "proposed candidates for sainthood" the lead gives "individuals [..] for whom there is a public petition [..] declaring them to be a Servant of God". These are two different things. Being declared a Servant of God is not the same as being declared a saint. By definition. As such, either the title or the lead need updating or clarification.
List membership (and refs), while some of the list members are supported by reliable refs (confirming that the process for a related decree and/or for canonization has at least been discussed), many other list members are not supported by any such refs. Even where there are refs, they don't support the member's inclusion. In all honesty, there are several list entries which seem questionable as a result.

Unless these issues can be addressed, I frankly wonder whether this list should be pared-back to those list members that can be demonstrated to verifiably meet the inclusion criteria. Otherwise, how is this list not a relatively indiscriminate collection of names? Guliolopez (talk) 15:06, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
