Two Linda Keens require two articles.[edit]

A proposal to delete this article as "not notable" has been added today by user 198.103.223.51. Since many of this user's previous edits concern Canada, I suspect that it is not coincidental that this notice has been posted on the same day as the highly controversial (in Canada) dismissal of ANOTHER Linda Keen as head of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission following last month's radioisotope shortage (see http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2008/01/16/keen-firing.html). If so, the proposal is in effect to delete the mathematician Linda Keen merely because another Linda Keen has suddenly become notable.

This is not the way to deal with the problem. If two Linda Keens are notable, then there should be two different Wikipedia articles. The existing article should be renamed (or "moved to" in Wikispeak) "Linda Keen (mathematician)", and a new article can be created with a name such as "Linda Keen (Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission)" or "Linda Keen (nuclear energy administrator)". In addition, we will need a "disambiguation page" named just "Linda Keen" with links to the two others, so that readers who type in "Linda Keen" are presented with the choice. I found a simpler solution not requiring new articles. The controversy over the Canadian Linda Keen is described in the existing article Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). So I have left the title of this article alone, and I have added a dab (disambiguation) link at the top to indicate where information on the Canadian Linda Keen can be found.
