Map[edit]

The article says there's a map "below", but there is no map... Tomer TALK 07:57, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Lincoln County and Welland County still exist. Go to the Registry Office and you'll see properties, newly created or old, listed as being in either Lincoln County or Welland County. The Regional Municipality of Niagara is an upper tier municipal government that covers the geographic areas of Lincoln County and Welland County. I challenge anyone to show the legislation that eliminated either one of these counties - you won't find it, because they still exist and are used by places like the Registry Office. An upper tier municipal government can cover more than one county (and some do), just one county (and many do), or something less than one county (not sure if any do, but there's nothing preventing this). Wikipedia has a serious problem with differentiating between counties in Ontario and upper tier governments. Throw in census areas with similar names and it can become even more confusing. I realize it's difficult, but somebody needs to take the time and clean these up, because Wikipedia is only creating more confusion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.71.2.138 (talk) 17:30, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
