Period between 1980 to 85... What happened?[edit]

Let us set the records straight. After doing some research and asking elders that followed the County's League, we can now say Nimba has won the trophy 🏆 seven(7) times (1978, 1979,1980,2010,2011,2022, and 2023).

In the early 80s, Nimba County won the trophy 3 consecutive times in roll. This qualified Nimba County to keep the cup permanently; never to return that particular cup again for counties to compete for it. A new cup was introduced the following county meet. Since then, no other county has won the cup 3 times in roll. Notable players in the 1980 team were Goal Wusu Mahn ( former player for IE and Hollywood a team in Yekepa. Koko Wreh currently at Public Works Ministry was a member of that team, and Tokpah Kehkper was the striker.

Please further verify this information at the ministry of youth and sports. But one thing for sure. Nimba county carried the cup 3 times in roll before and was given the cup permanently, for good. This is a fact no one can deny.

Nimba has carried the cup at least 7 times now.

Thanks Mr. Cooper Mykers , Hon Larry Younquoi , Elijah Yormietay Yormie , Yah Kpuoseegbay Saye Kawolo , Paye Bamakpa and Alexander Tomah for making this information available. 41.57.95.198 (talk) 23:29, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
