Meaning[edit]

"Gillick's diverse art practice is not limited to categorization" What does that mean? Does that mean "limited by". It's gibberish otherwise 78.146.94.101 (talk) 02:26, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Editing[edit]

The last editing of the article has been conducted in agreement with the artist Liam Gillick by his Berlin gallery Esther Schipper. The idea of the structure of the Wiki article as it is now, is to give at hand basic information about the artist's career and work. The previous version of the article emphasized just one field of Gillick's artistic activity - his public projects - and this is neither his central nor his most fundamental occupation. The following step could be to build up a solid structure of Liam Gillicks central work groups. Hence referring to the sentence that his artwork very often functions in parallel to his writing, one could make the effort to give a concise summary of Gillicks essays (see "All books" published in 2009) and furthermore try to connect their narratives to Gillicks various form findings, which could be categorized for themselves (e.g. on the basis of the retrospective catalogue “Factories in the Snow”, published in 2007). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eschipper (talkcontribs) 15:39, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please note wikipedia articles are not written "in agreement" with the subject. They are written in accordance with wikipedia policies, namely WP:V, WP:NPOV and WP:NOR, namely objectively from existing reliable secondary sources about the subject: see WP:RS. This may or may not be in accordance with the subject's wishes. Reliably sourced material should not be removed without good reason and this may be disputed. Unless secondary sources about his essays "connect their narratives to Gillicks various form findings", then it would be original research to do so, and not permitted. Please note also that this article is intended not for the art specialist but for the general reader, so should be written so that it can be understood in plain English. Photo of Gillick[edit]

We could use a photo-portrait of Gillick for the infobox of this article. Is any New York-based editor feeling snap-happy? --Artiquities (talk) 08:36, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
